Constructed Street Name Signs

Signfix Systems have developed two Streetname Sign Systems for non standard streetname signs.

Traditional Sign Panel construction - Single Sided Street Name Signs
This method utilises the same components and construction processes used in the manufacture of standard single sided road signs i.e. 2mm Aluminium panel (Grade 5251/5052 H34) stiffened with Signfix Channel. Dependent on sign size and location the Constructed Streetname sign can be centre mounted or cantilever mounted on a single pole or in the case of long signs can be mounted on 2 poles.

Double sided Cantilever Signs
I-Beam Construction using Mini Tee Extrusion
This method of sign construction enables non-standard depth signs to be manufactured and utilise the same Fittings/ Brackets as those used for Street Name Extrusion. Signs are constructed by fixing Mini Tee Extrusion to the top and bottom edge of a 2mm/2.5mm (up to 3.0mm) aluminium panel. Designed for signs up to 450mm long.

I-Beam Construction using Double Tee Extrusion
This extrusion has has the same (but larger) profile and manufacturing method as Mini Tee and is especially suitable for large Street Name/Motorist Service Signs exceeding 250mm in depth. Large signs exposed to adverse conditions can be further strengthened with extrusion fitted to the back edge of the sign between the brackets. A sign constructed with Double Tee extrusion is not compatible with the Signfix NO EXIT extrusion, Mid Mount or OSBMM style brackets.

Designed for signs up to 1500mm long or 0.72m2. Signs over these sizes must be constructed and installed as single sided signs and are not suitable for cantilever mounting. Purpose designed OSBLM Universal Aluminium Offset Brackets must be used with Double Tee extrusion:
- 2 brackets are required for signs up to 1200mm long or 0.56m2
- 4 brackets (2 each top & bottom) are required for signs 1200mm to 1500mm long or 0.56 to 0.72m2
